Magical Recipe For Procrastinators
Today, we are going to explore a new recipe for fighting the procrastinator that is inside of all of us. We all have that time in our lives when we just keep thinking about a project and just delaying it until a panic monster wakes up. But, the sad part is that panic monster only come when time is running out or we’re just about to miss a deadline.
So, when there are no deadlines, no panic monster then how procrastinators can get their things done? Here comes the solution to this problem. We can fight procrastination with a ‘Pomodoro technique’ which was developed by Francesco Cirillo. It has quite insightful results in terms of productivity.
The technique says that whenever you want to do a task but did not find any motivation so divide that task into four parts. Set up the timer for 25 minutes and focus on that task and take a short break for 5 minutes then repeat the process four times but in the last take a longer break of 20 minutes. During this process whenever a thought comes in your mind and try to distract you then maintain your focus by writing that thought on a paper then immediately come back to your work. Then, after completing that task, reward yourself with a candy, chocolate, snacks or whatever you like the most to find motivation. In the end, tick mark the projects you have done.
I am using this technique and i got fruitful results from this experience. I am the person who can not focus on a task more than 25 minutes so it is quite helpful for me. It’s true that not everything works for everyone but at least we should give it a try!
